General Privacy Policy

Your privacy is very important to us, so we do not share, sell, or rent your personal information.  We do not rent or sell any of our email, newsletter, or customer lists.  We do not add your name to any paper mailing lists, and we do not send unsolicited mail to your physical address.

When you order from us via our web site, we do not automatically add your name or email address to any mailing lists. We hate spam just as much as you do!  Unless you opt in to our email mailing list, the only emails that you will receive from us will be related to your order (confirmation, shipping notification, any questions that may arise in fulfilling your order), to your tracking information, or any issues with your account.

If you wish to join our email list, you must opt in voluntarily-- you can do so below, at the footer of our web site.

Our In-store Loyalty Program and Your Privacy

Customers who visit us in our physical store location have the option of joining our in-store loyalty program, which keeps track of your purchases and provides you with discount rewards and other special offers.  Participation in this program is entirely optional; to participate, you must opt in. No one is ever automatically entered into the loyalty program.

The loyalty program uses your telephone number to identify your individual loyalty account; it does not require a name.  If you opt to use the loyalty program's online interface or smartphone app to access all the program's features, then some of your basic personal information (name, address, email, etc.) will be shared with the third-party company that runs the loyalty program. Any emails, special offers, or other electronic notifications sent to you via the loyalty program will only be related to purchases and offers at The Tool Shed; personal and purchase data will not be shared outside of the Tool Shed and the loyalty program itself.

The Tool Shed SMS Opt-In Policy

We use SMS messaging only in cases where you, as a customer, have opted in to receiving short messages updating the status of your order or providing answers to product inquiries. We do not use SMS messaging for marketing or promotion purposes.

The following is our brief two-point opt-in acknowledgement script that you will receive the first time we message you from our phone number 414-906-5304: 

1. This message is from The Tool Shed. You communicated with one of our store staff recently and gave permission to text you at this number. Is that still okay with you?
