This paddle is a total twofer-- you get two sensations for the price of one great paddle!  One side is a lovely hardwood, and the other is a minicell foam.  The hardwood side is obviously much harsher, while the minicell foam side is far more forgiving-- but it still makes a GREAT spanking sound!  So, if the sound of the paddle is part of the appeal (as it is to many folks), but you're not quite as into the pain, the foam side is a great option.  It is also a great warmup for heavier spanking play... and/or for the wooden side.
